Newcomer Support Program
Newcomers to Canada meet significant challenges when looking for important financial, education, employment, and settlement supports. Barriers like language and cultural differences can block newcomers from thriving and leave many in vulnerable living situations or poverty.
Our free, culturally competent supports help break down these barriers by providing opportunities for skill training, education, community networking, and mentorship.
We aim to empower newcomer women and gender diverse people to build a fresh start and a better life.
Eligibility Requirements
- Women and gender diverse people
- Adults 19 years and older
- Permanent resident, Temporary Resident Permit, Work Permit (under section 112 of IRPR), or granted refugee status.
Services Offered
- English and French language classes
- Informative workshops on employment, financial literacy, and settlement topics
- Guest speaker sessions and special events
- Community activities and networking opportunities
- One-on-one support
Free individual consultations for newcomers
Time: every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
We can help with:
- Navigating local resources and services
- Answering settlement-related questions
- Providing referrals
- Connecting you to programs, workshops, and language classes
