Program Overview
The YWCA is working to establish a new major project that focuses on youth mental health and addictions, wellness, and multi service partnerships. The Project Manager is a key member of this developing team and will be primarily responsible for ensuring the start up and development activities are achieved. This is an 10 month position within our Community Programs Team. Essential to this work will be experience, understanding and skills for capital projects, working with multiple contractors, architecture firms and strict deadlines. Collaboration and working as part of a team of people will also be key for success.
Role of the Project Manager
- Advance the vision and mission of YWCA Halifax
- Overseeing budgets
- Overseeing contract deliverables and meeting deadlines
- Coordinating capital procurement and renovations/retrofits
- Project Planning and program model development
- Collaborate with external consultants and manage relationship with project funding partners
- Partnership Agreements
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Programs Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
The Project Manager will have:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to navigate legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Negotiation and relationship brokering
- Financial assessment and management
- Project development and implementation
- Verbal and written communication
- Risk assessment and management
- Collaboration and partnership building
- Independent work and workplan development
- Understanding of Mental Health and Addictions in NS
- Familiarity with Youth Engagement and Community Development Approaches and Best Practices
- A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is an asset much of this work will require traveling between locations
- A clear criminal background check with a vulnerable sector search is required upon hire.
