Title: Developmental Evaluator- Youth Volunteerism
Classification: Full Time, Salary
Hours: 37.5 hrs/ week, Monday-Friday (with occasional weekend hours)
Location: Halifax, NS (options for remote work, with expectation of meeting on site on a regular basis)

General Summary and Competencies:
The Developmental Evaluator- Youth Volunteerism, is a unique position related to the beginning of a new and developing program. This position works collaboratively with other team members to ensure that the YWCA Halifax Youth Volunteerism programs and supports are as successful as possible. The Developmental Evaluator ensures that intentional evaluation, learning, and documentation are happening during the beginning stages of a new program design. This includes consistent, ongoing, and detailed engagement with all levels of the program (participants, staff, partners, funders, broader community, etc.). Key to this role is storytelling, best practice inclusion, recommendations, and learning sharing (knowledge mobilization).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree or diploma in community development, program management, education, business, or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of program development and design
- Experience in evaluation and storytelling
- Experience writing reports, articles, research papers, and other information sharing methods
- Understanding of Program or Project work would be an asset
- Experience working with youth volunteers or understanding of Youth Participatory Action Research an asset
- To be able to work effectively as a team member and maintain an open, communicative, and supportive working environment.
- Independent judgement and time management skills
- Effective interpersonal, and organization skills, high level of computer literacy, ability to maintain collaborative partnerships, internal and external to the organization.
Essential Duties of the Position:
- Create evaluation plan for entire program lifespan (2.25 yrs)
- Establish developmental evaluation milestones and markers
- Collaborate with Team and external consultants to build robust program deliverables
- Maintains accurate files electronically and in hardcopy to ensure responsible administrative records.
- Ensure Youth Voice, Youth Engagement and Community Development methods are being used and evaluated
- Support Narrative Storytelling process and Videography
- Work collaboratively with staff, partners and consultants to ensure final report/narrative document is complete
- Assumes other duties as assigned within the scope of their role.
