Keep a Roof Over Their Heads

Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

Thank you all who have joined us for the 2011 Keep A Roof Over Thier Heads Breakfast.

Nobody should have to wonder where they are going to sleep tonight, but this is the reality for hundreds of women and families in our community. There are 1718 people using shelters in Halifax. For over 25,000 families in Halifax, there is a thin line between having money for groceries and rent and being out on the streets.

YWCA Halifax is there for women and families at critical turning points in their lives. Our program alleviate and prevent homelessness, increase economic security, and offer a path to self sufficiency. This year the YWCA Halifax will provide over 13,000 days of housing and support to formally homeless women and families. The YWCA is Canada's largest single provider of shelter services for women and families.

The Keep A Roof Over Their Heads Breakfast is a galvanizing showcase of how your support will change lives forever. Your purchase of one table makes it possible for the YWCA to provide housing and support services for one woman for an entire month.

A very special thanks goes out to Scotiabank, who's generous support is truly making a difference within our community.
