Spryfield Youth Drug Prevention Action Program (SYDPAP)

SYDPAP is a pilot project based on the current Nova Scotia drug prevention curriculum, “A Question of Influence”, which has been enhanced by incorporating our Fly-W graduated peer leadership model. The goal of SYDPAP is to empower young women and their collective voice by exploring inventive methods of creativity and fostering their voice in efforts to interpret and share personal community perspectives.

By increasing their knowledge and awareness about substance abuse issues, these peer mentors will acquire useful life skills and promote healthy and alternative behaviours that will motivate other youth to consider positive choices when looking to substance abuse as a potential solution.
