Family Home Daycare
YWCA Halifax Family Home Day Care
YWCA Halifax's Family Home Day Care program supports Home Care Providers in becoming a part of YWCA Halifax's Family Home Day Care Agency through home visits, interviews, application process, and meeting the requirements of the Nova Scotia Day Care Act and Regulations.
Once approved, Home Care Providers receive ongoing support through training and professional development, child matching services, play groups, toy and equipment lending library, and more.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for children, care providers, and families to link with each other and the community. The Agency has a very interactive approach, assisting care providers that will positively impact: early learning, strong community ties, and professionalism among the care providers.
Some of the services that will be provided to Care Providers:
- Decrease isolation through play groups, focus groups, one-on-one visits and regular workshops
- Consultant support with room set-up, activities, behaviours, administrative support and parent communication
- Professional Development and certification allows you to attract many potential parents to your program
- Resource Lending Library allows you to access new materials
- Child Matching Services are offerede to link parents with care providers that meet the needs of children, and location
- The opportunity to provide government subsidized spots to parents in your community
- Care Providers networking and peer support
- Much much more!
